High Point Auto Insurance Review
Sunday, 15 December 2013 16:57High Point auto insurance was rebranded to Plymouth Rock recently but High Point is still the name of the underwriting company, and High Point underwritten auto insurance is offered exclusively in the state of New Jersey. Plymouth Rock even created a separate website for its New Jersey customers with unique information and articles specific to the state. High Point was recently downgraded by A.M. Best for various reasons, and has received lower than average customer satisfaction ratings from J.D. Power, therefore it may not be the best option for auto insurance seekers in the state.
Company Background Information
High Point auto insurance was renamed to Plymouth Rock Assurance in 2011, as a way to unify High Point with Palisades and Teachers’ Insurance. All three of these companies were previously owned by Plymouth Rock, so the name change did not have anything to do with a new acquisition. Customers of High Point received the same type of service and there were no changes to policy coverage. The insurance ID cards also remained the same, and continued to show the brand name of the underwriting company (High Point, Palisades, or Teachers’).
High Point/Plymouth Rock offers auto insurance exclusively in the state of New Jersey. High Point/Plymouth Rock received some attention for its “Jersey Doesn’t Stink” campaign to try to promote a positive image of the state of New Jersey through social media. High Point received a “B+” (Good) rating in the most recent A.M. Best survey. Best recently downgraded the financial strength rating of High Point due to declines in surplus among other factors. Plymouth Rock Assurance only received 2 out of 5 power circles in the 2012 J.D. Power and Associates customer satisfaction study for the Northeast United States region. Its own customer satisfaction survey found a 94% satisfaction rate, and the Plymouth Rock companies insurance over 500,000 drivers.
